
Jessica Ann Simpson Johnson, born on 10 July 1980, is an American actress, performer businesswoman, philanthropist and entrepreneur. Simpson signed with Columbia Records at the age of 17 after having been a part of church choirs as an infant. Sweet Kisses, her first studio album, came out in 1999. It sold 2 million copies across the United States. She also had the commercial success of the hit single "I Wanna Love You Forever". Simpson's sophomore studio album, Irresistible was a maturer release. Its title track became Simpson's second-highest charting Billboard Hot 100 entry. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) confirmed the album gold. In This Skin (2003) Simpson's third studio album was a huge success, selling three million copies in the United States. Simpson's previous career was characterized by her wedding to Nick Lachey. She was also on MTV's reality television series Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica in 2003 and 2005. Simpson made her film debut on The Dukes of Hazzard (2006) as Daisy Duke after the release of ReJoyce: The Christmas Album (2004). In the soundtrack to the film, she also composed a cover version of "These Boots Are Made to Walk" In 2006, she released her fifth studio album A Public Affair. She was also in the romantic comedy film The Employee of the Month. After the release of her sixth studio album, Do You Know (2008), Simpson moved to the country genre. Alongside her musical pursuits, Simpson launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005, a style-focused line with 34 product categories. It's the most successful famous brand of license in the history of fashion that has more than $1 billion of sales as of today. Simpson was also a participant in The Price of Beauty, the reality TV show that aired in 2010. She also supervised the fashion designs for Fashion Star 2 and 3. Simpson is married to Eric Johnson with whom she has three children.
